The End Defines The Means

Where is your ship sailing?

Where is your ship sailing?

Once more you’re on the grind.

Remember that in the midst of writing all of your plans you must always keep the end result in mind. You call into existence what you think about. So if you constantly think of the next babystep without taking time to meditate upon your end result, your efforts are futile. It is vital to know what your next step is and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

However, if you keep putting one foot in front of the other and you don’t know where you’re walking, that’s quite dangerous right? I am infamous for diving deep into my daily to-do lists and plans, but I come to the surface for air and to make sure I’m swimming in the right direction & I can still see my destination.

If you are reading this, you’re probably an ambitious person. Great! You know you want success, but you must be able to define that because the universe will not define it for you. It simply delivers that which is most in harmony with your energy. The more you think about your end result, ther more you are in harmony with it. So is your end result getting your architectural model turned into a building? Is it being #1 on the billboard charts and sellling a million records? Is it having your publication distributed worldwide? What do you want?

If you take the time to truly define your end result, I guarantee you that the plans you develop to move forward will be easier to create and your life will just flow.

Don’t just go with the flow, create the flow.

 Network Game

I know you have heard the saying “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”, and I’m here to tell you that is not exactly correct. It’s who knows you. For example, President Obama does not know everyone in the country, but everyone in the country knows him. Everyone knows he is president. That should put a new twist on networking for you. When you are trying to broadcast your name into a thousand ears, I suggest you target special relationships with a certain group of people. Those people in turn will feel like you are being genuine with them and will pass your name along.

The moral of the story is…other people can spread the word about you better than you can. Take advantage of that by being close to people instead of using the goodyear blimp as an advertisement if you know what I mean. Sure, people will see your name, perhaps your face on the blimp but why do they care? The best way to get someone to care about you is to care about what they are doing. Help them ways which are very beneficial that no one else may be willing to do or than no one else can do. This way, not only are you a friend, you are an asset. When that person analyzes the group they associate with they will think of you and say “I should definitely keep in touch with him/her”.

If you can manage to do the goodyear blimp effect as well as form personal relationships with people, you are on the perfect track! A combination of the two is the key to your success. But if you had to choose one, form relationships with people. You never know WHO you may be talking to! You never know who’s listening! You never really know who can help you. What better way to bring you closer to your dreams than to assist others in realizing their dreams.

You have to give to receive. If you want great networking associates no matter your business…be a great networking associate. If more friends is what you want, be a friend more often to more people. I think you see how this works. If you don’t people will view you as a leech. Someone will notice that you are not giving back and spread the word. Network properly when branding yourself! Make sure you attend the events of the type of people you want to market to. Have many conversations and leave them with information they did not know before and physical substance in their hands (preferably something of value). Whether it’s your cd, business card, flyer, or DVD, give people a way to contact you and become more interested in you. Sometimes in marketing people forget people are people. Laugh, joke, & express yourself because I guarantee you that the people you want to connect with do the same.

Keep your network game rolled up tight like a taquito!
