Monthly Archives: March 2009

Well people, I’ve been on it! I finished up many photoshoots for my new image, which I love. I’m no model, but I rocked it! Putting together a color scheme was a necessity to me so I did it. It required much thought on my part but now you can identify Kitty Katana.

My myspace page has been revamped today and will now include a handwritten, personalized letter from me to you, renewed every week. I had the page organized so that you can sort through all my business easier. :) The website is coming along nicely and I would let you preview but, that’s not how I operate. I appreciate you visiting so much, that I want it to be comfy & perfect when you get there. Expect blogs, videos, forums, the works. It’s everything you love about a social network in a nutshell.

I have some interviews coming up very soon, one of them being from Examiners.com. The offer came out of the blue and I’m so excited to rock the interview and show you all my charm. ; ) Been a little out of the YouTube loop since I restarted vocal lessons but I’m coming back this week. The studio will also see my face this week after I take care of all my copyrights.

What’s on the agenda next you ask? … Passport!

I can’t let you know what it’s for just yet though.

I Miss Kitty am gearing up to rock every stage in my metroplex this summer. Don’t worry I’ll make sure you get all the footage. I’ll be talking to you soon, I gotta rehearse my music and my script.

Amy, Amy, Amy! How I love her so. When I first discovered her music I felt like I had been left out on a world of good music and had totally neglected Britain. WinehouseI’ve never heard someone express the dark emotions of human nature so beautifully. Such as her song “Back to Black”, in the video she buries her own heart.

Winehouse isn’t exactly bright and perky to my knowledge, but that’s okay. We’re all human and we don’t all feel bright and perky all the time. I must say that my favorite song from Amy is “He Can Only Hold Her”. It’s a jazzy uptempo song about a woman’s dying heart which no man can “fix”, he can only hold her. Fitting title right?

Winehouse is a major part of the music industry overseas, despite all her negative press. A sad part about living in America is that we indirectly shun music & culture from elsewhere in the world because we subconciously think America has the best already. I’m glad I awoke from that pitiful slumber and saw the light in Amy. Not to mention, she writes her own music as well. When are you coming to the states Amy???

Kitty Katana~

Last week I had the pleasure of witnessing T.I. live in concert. Dude is off the chain. The most memorable part of the concert was when he told the story of him signing to a record label. He started out by first acknowledging his tremendous respect for L.A. Reid and saying that if weren’t for him he would still be trapping in the streets.

Then the story begins…back in the days before making the album “I’m Serious” T.I. was brought into a studio to rap for a bunch of people he did not know. Later he found out that one of the strangers he rapped for was the major label A&R, L.A. Reid. So next thing you know, T.I. is signed and is required to turn in an album that we now call “I’m Serious”. So of course The King puts all his hard work into this and hands it over to L.A. Reid and he listens to the entire album. Reid states that it was real good but “I don’t know if I hear any hits on there”. So T.I. screams to his audience of thousands of fans “I got hits Now nigga!!”. T.I. then began performing almost all of his music that hit the top 10 if not #1 on the Billboard charts. I think The King was right. :)

The performance skills T.I. exuded were very engaging and he made his audience a full blown part of the show through interaction. I’ve never seen a huge crowd communicate to a solo performer the way they did that night. T.I. had the crowd hypnotized into mimicking every gesture he made. I know becausKing Stylee I made sure to look behind me into the masses to see what they were doing. Whatever T.I. said to do, we did. Simple as that. An amazing performer can perform before an audience of thousands of people but make you feel that he is speaking to you individually. Loved it. I see a bright future for the man. He manages to hold the record in jumping from the 70’s straight to #1 on the Billboard charts. He broke his own record by later jumping from the 80’s to #1. Every album sells more records than the previous and he’s making large shoes for himself to fill. But we all know he can fill ‘em. He’s The King.

By the way, Tiny is blessed because when he took his shirt off and made sexual movements I almost climbed onstage. Sorry, I had to tell you that.

Dreaming of Adele

The Lovely Adele

At this years Grammy awards I paid close attention to who was cleaning up on the awards. One of those people was a young lady (with beautiful nails) named Adele. I found it so strange that she was getting so much attention and I’ve never heard of her before. So you know what I had to do. I looked her up and listened to her tracks. What music she brought to my ears. I wasn’t even ready for what she delivered. Her vocal riffs surprised me with their spontaneity and nerve. She is the definition of groove. I played her for a while in my office and everyone who entered asked me what I was listening to or wrongly guessed. But they gave educated guessed like Corinne Bailey Rae and Joss Stone. No honey, it’s Adele.

I absolutely fell in love with the way her voice carries and it’s pure strength. I’m not sure if there was anything more I could have asked for from her. By the end of my listening period I felt guilty because I listened to all of her passion for free! I wanted to pay! If you have the slightest curiousity or doubt about this Brit singer, by all means have a listen on imeem as I did. Her song “Tired” made me feel her depletion of energy. A singer who can make me feel what they are feeling has officially moved me & made an effect. I want to thank you Adele, wherever you are. I understand why they etched so many Grammy awards with your name. I found her song “Right as Rain” quite fun and amusing to listen to. This post highly encourages you to visit Adele and formulate your own love for her.
