I Came, I Saw, I Conquered

 

 

 

Well I just finished typing about the importance of media networks and search engine optimization for my yet-to-be-titled book. Awesome right? The chapter is called Exposure. I’m writing this book because the techniques I’ve employed have been very successful for me, and I know the world is abundant and there is more than enough to share, so why not share it with you? The book is mainly intended to be read by independent musicians who are not waiting for a label to sign them and want to do as much as they can by themselves. I love helping people be successful and I know that if you are hungry for the entertainment industry you will take great advice wherever it may come to you. So here I am to offer you as much as I know about ALL aspects of the business.

I discovered that less independent artists than what I assumed know what I know. I saw a void and decided to fill it. Until the book is complete I will give you this advice…stay hungry for your dreams. Do not lose sight of your ultimate goal and let everything you do relate to bringing you closer to your goal no matter what it may be. If you want to watch a movie, let it be one that in some way or another stirs something inside of you or motivates you. Don’t clutter your mind with things you don’t want your mind consumed by. Lets say you like to watch violent imagery. Don’t allow yourself to watch that if you wouldn’t mind being consumed by it. Absorb all the positivity you can, to use as fuel for your intense white heat of desire. This sometimes means that you must eliminate people from your life who don’t fit into the equation. If someone is not fitting in your picture, let them go. Know that everything in this moment is exactly how it was meant to be.

For all the musicians out there anticipating their moment of ‘arrival’, know that it is the journey which matters most. Life is much like a game. Boxing for example would lose all excitement if the boxer stepped into the ring, TKO’d his opponent in 10 seconds and stepped out. Football would not build so much excitement if there was no struggle, no exhaustion, no pain. These are the reasons we watch these sports. Of course we want to see the team we are rooting for win, and we know they will win, but winning is not the best part. It’s getting there. That moment of winnning will allow you the right to reflect upon the daunting past feeling victorious. Success is a journey, not a destination.

You know you will win. Enjoy the adventure to the top and when you get there you can say…’veni, vidi, vici!’

Inspiration from Tyler Perry

 

 

I would like to take some time to shed light upon a very special man…Tyler Perry. There are few celebrities who inspire me to be a better person and live my life as best I can and Perry is one of them. For those who may not know, he is a formerly homeless man who wrote plays and dreamed 1200 people would show. This is a man who had been crushed by life and recovered in the strongest way. He wrote plays and people laughed. People asked him if he was serious and told him he wouldn’t amount to much. You can read his full bio here. The beauty of this grief is that he didn’t believe them. People can call you whatever you like, but what do you answer to? People can say whatever they like, but what do you believe? Tyler Perry was intelligent enough to know that he had the power to create the life he wanted.

When Perry was homeless he would gather up enough change for gas to drive to the nicest neighborhood in Atlanta and say “one day”. He practiced autosuggestion! This was a regular thing that he did. He also went to open houses for lovely homes and test drove the cars he loved in order to tell his mind that ‘this is possible’. These are material things, but allowing yourself to be around the things you believe you will have when you’re “rich” feeds your subconcious mind. What do you tell yourself?

I love it when someone realizes their own power and acts upon that. That is what makes every story touching, it brings tears to your eyes. You must know that you don’t have to settle and there is better for you if you want there to be. I decided to tap into Tyler Perry’s source of inspiration by subscribing to his e-mails, I recommend that you do the same. Every time I read his e-mails I just well up with a sense of joy and knowing that all is well and this too shall pass. One of his e-mails touched me so deeply I printed it and keep it posted in my bedroom. This was an e-mail about dreaming another dream if something doesn’t work for you. For example, you dream of having your publication distributed nationally and to be in partnership with a major corporation and it fails miserably. What would you do?

The idea is to overcome your devastation and dream another dream. Because perhaps what was in store for you is international distribution and partnership with your own corporation. When you dream you may be underestimationg yourself, there may be something much greater surfacing for you. Dream and keep your eyes open for every opportunity. My Eyes Don’t Make Me

Instead of cursing the darkness, I light a candle...

 

For all of those who may not know…I’ve worn glasses for half of my life now. (wow) They have just recently broken (last night) and tomorrow morning I will get my first, fresh pair of contacts. How refreshing. If you don’t know what it’s like to have to wear glasses that long you don’t want to know! I feel a bit like a different person and I haven’t even gotten the contacts yet. Everything has been blurry all day long, but I guess that kept my day interesting. When something happens to you to reduce the quality of your sight, it makes you appreciate your sight so much more. Another inside secret is that I have always had strange & bizarre trouble with my eyes from pinkeye to damn near blindness. It’s a struggle that Iam now overcoming. It’s funny but, not being able to see my best has been truly empowering to me. Think about it, what if one of your physical senses was hindered. Would it ruin your day and make a horrible memory, or would it make you stronger? I feel stronger, just because I was able to function without those plastic lenses. I won and I’m undefeatable.
