Music You Will No Longer Be Missing!

(L to R) Chillin in the parking lot gettin ready to part ways with New York, Me, Tynisha Keli, and Shanice
I would like to begin by saying that this young woman is absolutely phenomenal. I discovered who she was a few
years ago but really got into her music late 2007. What was I missing?!? Her vocal
control, strength, & style truly impressed me, but what impressed me even more than that was that she wrote the songs she sung! These were no careless lyrics mind you. She crafted her feelings into words in such a way that it was extraordinary. That is where greatness comes into play, to do an ordinary thing in an extraordinary way. Few celebrities will take their valuable time and spend it with loyal fans…TK did. When she was on tour last fall I was fortunate enough to meet her at the Galleria Mall in Dallas, TX and spend time with her and take pictures. It didn’t end there! She spent the weekend with me and my friends an
d even made a trip to my apartment with 2 special people with her. I’m not sure if I should be telling you all this but I want you to know just how cool she is. She snacked on taquitos, made jokes, and gave me serious advice
about the music industry, and helped me get studio time! How many celebs do that? How many people do that for you whether they are famous or not? So you know we had to snap some pics with her. The photos you see have been taken in my parking lot, my apartment, and The Galleria Mall in Dallas. All in all this woman has a heart, a powerful brain, and with those two working in conjunction, she cannot be stopped!
The next reason why I believe that you should no longer
miss out on Tynisha Keli is because it is finally her time. Often times we look at where someones position in life is and how talented they are and disregard what it took to get there. She started her music career at 17 I believe (you can read her full bio here), and it has been a long road that she is still traveling. From her childhood to leaving home at an early age to switching record labels, this girl REFUSES to quit or slow down. You HAVE to admire someone like that. You can’t help but see the God in a person who knows that their situation does not define them, and totally recreates their life into what they want it to be. It is Tynisha Keli’s time to shine everyone.
Lastly, I want to say that you should listen to her music. You may be wondering why I didn’t say that first! Well, I want you to understand that for me, music is about the person. I need you to understand the type of human being that you are dealing with so that when you press play or buy, you are listening to her soul.

- Robin Thicke

Oh My God I Love Robin Thicke!
His music really reaches me, I’m talking about ALL of it. I don’t think he has created a song that I have not heard & loved. The reason why you should no longer miss out on this talented man is because of his drive & skill. He too is an excellent songwriter and wrote the songs on his latest CD while in a depression. He received shortlived success from “When I Get You Alone”, the people wanted to invite him to parties no longer did, and his wife Paula Patton was away working on a movie. That is usually enough to slightly disturb any industry newcomer, but not Thicke.
His drive led him to keep striving and now he is bigger than he ever was. He took the songs he wrote during a depressing time in his life and gave them the light his energy truly deserved. If you haven’t noticed, I admire people who don’t give in.
Listen to his latest CD entitled “Something Else” and then trail backwards through his discography to see how far he has come. Pay special attention to “You’re My Baby” and “Dreamworld”. When you listen to the CD “The Evolution of Robin Thicke”, my favorites are “I Need Love” and “Complicated”. The lyrical content and emotion in these songs are incredible.

- Elliott Yamin

Elliott Yamin’s single “Wait For You” received quite a bit of publicity through radio, television, and the viral world so it’s likely you’ve heard it. I want everyone to know that Elliott has more to offer than this fantastic song. I am going to be completely honest and corny with you. The first time I heard “You Are The One” I cried somewhere near the middle. The lyrics are so beautiful and well delivered. You are missing out on a truly great song and artist if you don’t give this song a listen. This is one of the few songs I can put on repeat with Ryan Leslie. Elliott is really easy listening and is likely the reason your significant other called you so sweetly the other night. So, you know the drill… visit his website and have a look around. Katana’s Pedestal guarantees that you won’t be disappointed.

If you don’t know, now you know that you should never again miss out on Amy Winehouse. I fell in love with her music as soon as I heard it. I fell even deeper when I learned that she wrote the music herself. I think she is beautiful and grossly misunderstood. I have favorite songs from all of her albums but I must confess that I love her latest album the most. My favorite song is “He Can Only Hold Her”, it has to be seeing how I listen to it every day. She has the perfect blend of contemporary, funky jazz & blues wrapped up in sultry, raspy vocals. Amy has a style all her own and so much of it! I will admit that the entire Amy Winehouse package is an aquired taste because she is one of the few people whom you will love or hate. I’m convinced that is why she gets so much press. Buy Back to Black and get the Amy Winehouse experience.

Chrisette Michelle
I first discovered Chrisette Michelle on Nas’ song “Can’t Forget About You” where she did more than just sing the hook. She amazed me with her voice. I couldn’t believe that in my lifetime I was witnessing a young lady who was so reminiscent of old school jazz legends. Her voice is very bluesy and carefree. I absolutely loved it. Because she baffled me I felt inclined to learn more about Michelle. I read her interviews and biography where I discovered that she is and educated woman. Not just educated in a college sense because that does not define education. Michelle has aquired and applied specialized knowledge, that is education.
She was “discovered” in a usual but uncommon way. Michelle sent a demo to an A&R at a specific record label and the listeners loved it. I know that sounds like nothing extraordinary but these days if you want attention from record execs, you take alternate routes. Chrisette Michelle is also a songwriter and composer (you know how much I like songwriters), and anyone who is writing the music they sing themselves is worth taking a listen. I say that because you will know that you are really listening to them. Stay on the lookout for this woman because she is on a move.

Ryan Leslie

I love Ryan Leslie. I think he is a very talented man. Definitely listen to the song “IRINA”, it’s my favorite song from him. Even to this day I don’t know exactly what the song is about but for some reason it intrigues me…he does too. Leslie’s creativity leaks through all of his music and therefore qualifies as one of the few people who can make me put their song on repeat. I can listen to his songs over and over and over and hear something a little bit different every time. Check out Ryanleslie.com for the official 411 on Ryan Leslie and his video blog. Gotta love the man! Listen to his music and discover why you like him.
